东半球是地球上本初子午线以东，180度经线以西的半球 东半球位于20°W——160°E之间[1]。
由于欧洲及非洲的西部在西经，为避免被本初子午线分割，所以东半球及西半球的分界线有时也被定义为西经20°及东经160°[2][3]。依照此分法，东半球的陆地有亚洲绝大部分、南极洲部分、欧洲、非洲、澳大利亚、以及许多其它岛屿。海洋有太平洋西部、大西洋东部、印度洋。
地理
东半球的中心位于印度洋，位于赤道和东90°子午线交汇处，位于印尼九十东岭以西910公里处。最近的土地是锡默卢岛，位于2°35'N 96°05'E。
东半球的陆地面积大于西半球，栖息地多种多样。
人口
82％生活在东半球，18％生活在西半球。[4]
